Athletes & The Value Of Routine

To achieve great success in life, we must have a routine. It is a paradigm shift which is essential to success. It might look initially boring, monotonous and rigorous, but once we understand why we have to do it, it makes the job easier.

We cannot succeed in life without routine. Note that the secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine. It is what will become our pattern and regimen to help us lay a solid foundation for our success.

Whether we know it or not, we are ruled and governed by one routine or the other. The character that takes command in moments of crucial choices has already been determined by a thousand other choices made earlier in seemingly unimportant moments. It has been determined by all the little choices of years past, by all those times when the voice of conscience was at war with the voice of temptation, which was whispering the lie that it really doesn’t matter. It has been determined by all the day to day decisions made when life seemed easy and crises seemed far away. The decision that piece by piece, bit by bit, developed habits of duty and honour and integrity, dishonour and shame.

We must understand that, like every repetitive behaviour, routine over time becomes automatic hence we need to be careful we do not imbibe and engage in destructive routines and habits. We build our character from the bucks of habit we pile up day by day.

Thoughts lead on to purposes, purposes go forth in action, action form habits, habits decide character and character fixes our destiny.

Routine is the product of our choices and priorities and this is usually determined by our values. Our values are the worth we place on or ascribe to a thing or person.

The value placed on something or a person will determine the priority and the quality and quantity of resources we allocate.

Have a routine of personal development, of updating ourselves, our skills, our knowledge, our health so as to increase our wealth in future. Don’t forget that we cannot afford to remain stagnant as the world is constantly changing and for us to be relevant we must keep ourselves updated always. Be good to your dream. Aim high.
