ANOTHER ANXIOUS MOMENT COMES, AS GIWA /NFF LEGAL TUSSLE RESUMES

Hearing resumes this Tuesday at a Federal High Court sitting in Jos on the case between the 2014 to 2018 regime of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee and Chris Giwa.

It is the tussle for the leadership of the NFF which began four years ago.

The case was slated to hold on July 23, but it suffered a setback due to the absence of the presiding judge.

The judge’s absence prompted the adjournment of the case till Wednesday August 1. It was at the new date that September 25 was fixed for further hearing.

Both Amaju Pinnick who presided over the NFF from September 30, 2014 to September 20, 2018 before being re-elected and Chris Giwa who wants the elective congress of August 26, 2014 to be validated, have been in and out of courts in the last four years on who is the authentic NFF president.

Lawyers to the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick had filed a motion for the court to vacate the judgment that nullified the September 30, 2014 election in Warri. The election brought Pinnick to office as President of the NFF.

While Giwa’s case was dismissed at the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), and even slammed with worldwide ban from football matters by FIFA, the owner of the now scrapped FC Giwa in Jos is holding to an earlier decision in the Jos High Court ruling that upheld his August 26 election in Abuja.
