He added that the programme, which is organised by AKISFA at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, in collaboration with Ray Tiding Consulting Limited, is also designed to equip participants with foundational technical knowledge and practical coaching skills.
“Do not stop after the completion of this programme. Continue learning, evolving and improving,” Umo told the participants, while pointing out that having better trained coaches across various communities would contribute to the development of football in Akwa Ibom State.
Sports247 gathered furrther that, during the training scheme that is expected to run for over eight weeks, participants will learn the basic principles and techniques of sports coaching, develop practical training skills as well as acquire ability to organise drills, exercises and stage competitions effectively.
The programme, which targets football coaches and grassroots trainers as well as academy instructors, youth leaders, retired athletes, administrators and fresh graduates, also received commendations from Akwa Ibom State commissioner for sports, Elder Paul Bassey.
