The NWFL Nationwide 2026 group stage came to a thrilling conclusion in Aba as Matchday 3 produced 17 goals across four matches, setting the stage for the decisive knockout phase in the battle for the two available promotion tickets.
Sports247 reports that In Group A, Kwara United Queens secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Solo Wonders Babes. Amarachi Nnorom converted from the penalty spot in the seventh minute to give Kwara United Queens all three points in a closely contested encounter.
The biggest result of the day came in Group B, where C2E Sports Academy produced a dominant 5-0 victory over Lakeside Queens. Oluchi Nwaboghogu opened the scoring in the eighth minute before Agnes Ohuche took centre stage.
Ohuche scored in the 16th and 38th minutes before completing her remarkable individual performance with further goals in the 47th and 76th minutes. Her four-goal haul was one of the standout performances of the tournament so far and propelled C2E Sports Academy to a commanding victory.
There was another high-scoring contest in Group C, as Onimarg FC defeated Ubakala Babes 4-2 in a dramatic encounter.
Adeomo Lovelyn gave Onimarg the lead in the 13th minute before Onyeocha Queen equalised for Ubakala from the penalty spot in the 34th minute. Islamiat Yusuf restored Onimarg’s advantage in the 74th minute and doubled the lead just two minutes later.
Ubakala Babes reduced the deficit through Grace Patrick in the second minute of stoppage time, but Onimarg sealed the victory when Onyediran Favour struck in the seventh minute of added time.
In Group D, Osklean FA defeated Plateau United Queens 2-1. Ijeoma Stephen opened the scoring in the 28th minute before Favour Chika doubled Osklean’s advantage shortly before half-time. Juliet Okoloko pulled one back for Plateau United Queens in the 49th minute, but Osklean held on for the win.
With the group stage now complete, the tournament moves into the knockout phase, where the remaining contenders will battle for the coveted promotion places.
