Akor Adams To Revive Nigerian Tradition At Venezia Of Italy, Folowing Transfer Agreement With Sevilla

Sevilla of Spain striker, Akor Jerome Adams is set to revive the Nigerian gtradition at Venezia FC of Italy, following a confirmed €16m summer transfer agreement that will take him from La Liga to Serie A, Sports247 gathered.

This development means Adams will follow in the footsteps of Kenneth Zeigbo, Tyronne Ebuehi, David Okereke and Adeniyi Saula, who all previously played for the Venice-based Italian outfit over the past years.

Adams is now set to become the next Nigerian player to star for Venezia, sequel to confirmation of a preliminary deal with the Seville-based Andalusian club, who will receive €16m guaranteed for the Super Eagles’ star’s exit.

With the 26-year-old vastly improved forward from Benue State having already accepted the deal that will see him join the newly promoted Italian club, Adams will become the most expensive signing in Venezia’s history.

It also means the former Sogndal and Lillestrøm of Norway and ex-Montpellier of France attacker has snubbed offers from Real Madrid of Spain and Arsenal of England with preference for the move to Venice.

The product of Jamba Football Academy, who shot to limelight as a member of Nigeria’s ill-fated Flying Eagles’ squad to the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, has already settled personal terms with Venezia, especially as Sevilla needed to sell a player in order to bring in new signings.

A report by Tribal; Football added, “This agreement has been set at just over €16m guaranteed, which means a profit, after deducting his salary, of almost €10m. The transfer will also include variable conditions that could raise the total fee to as much as €23m.

“It’s worth remembering that Akor Adams arrived at Sanchez-Pizjuan for €5m in January 2025 from Montpellier. It was in the past season that he delivered his best numbers. Adams managed 10 goals and three assists, in securing LaLiga survival for Sevilla.”

Sports247 reports that Adams, who was part of Nigeria’s bronze medal-winning squad to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he scored twice for the Super Eagles, had also earlier been touted with a move to either Olympique Marsielle and Olympique Lyon of France.

While his first AFCON goal came against Moazambique, his second sizzler was listed among CAF’s top five of the tournament, with a citation noting that the effort, which came in a quarter-final 2-0 victory over Algeria, was full of ‘precision, composure and technical brilliance.’
