Super Eagles’ left-back, Zaidu Sanusi could be on his way to Saudi Arabia at the end of this month, as FC Porto of Portugal appear ready to let him go to Al-Qadsiah in the oil-rich nation for a fee in the region of €10m, Sports247 reports.
Porto are eager to cash in on interest in Sanusi from the Saudi putfit, following their inability to tie him down to new terms on his annual salary and other emuluments in the new season, which has raised serious doubt over his future with the team.
In contrast with the strained relations now brewing between Sanusi and the Oporto-based club, Al-Qadsiah appear to be keen on having the left-footed overlapping full back, and the Arabian outfit have already held formal talks with egg heads of Porto.
Those talks have now raised speculation to a highpoint, with strong hints of credibility that Sanusi would jolly well be on his way to Saudi Arabia sometime next week, as the summer transfer window hits a crescendo across Europe and most other parts of the world.
A report by Tribal Football disclosed, “Nigeria international Zaidu Sanusi could leave Portuguese champions FC Porto this summer, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah reportedly interested in signing the defender.
“Sanusi is entering the final year of his Porto contract, with talks over a two-year extension reportedly stalled because of disagreements over his salary. Al-Qadsiah officials have held discussions with Porto about a potential transfer.
“Porto are reportedly willing to let the 29-year-old leave and have set his valuation at around €10m. Sanusi joined the Portuguese giants from Santa Clara in 2020 and has won eight domestic trophies.”
