Access Bank Lagos City Marathon: Media Seminar Holds January 23

The accreditation process for media practitioners interested in covering the 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon is still ongoing and would now end on Thursday, January 17, 2019.

The Head of Communications and Media for the marathon, Olukayode Thomas, said on Wednesday that the 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon Media Seminar where accredited journalists will have the opportunity to brainstorm with the organizers will hold January 23, 2019, at the Sports Bar of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Accredited journalists will pick up their tags between January 21 and 22, 2019, at the Marathon Office, Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

The accreditation tag will serve as entry tag into the Media Seminar. Journalists not accredited will not be allowed to into the seminar.

“The portal for the media accreditation is already up and running, we enjoin those that are interested to visit the site and register promptly,” he said.

While stating that it is very important for all journalists that want to be part of 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon to get accredited, Thomas said there are limited spaces for this edition.

“For better management and effectiveness, we have limited spaces this year, that is why we are calling for early registration, the process will also be stricter this term as only professional media practitioners are welcomed to apply” Thomas declared.

The Head of Communication and Media for the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon revealed that the organizers have already lined up renowned resource persons for January 2019 to help journalists that would be coming from different parts of the world improve on their reportage of marathon races.

“We are already speaking to some resource persons both in the IAAF and CAA to come over and brainstorm with our journalists, they have been very supportive over the years and they deserve to be encouraged with training exercises like these” Thomas posited.

The organizers warned that there will be no last-minute registrations or extension of dates.

To further ease the media accreditation process, forms have also been made available to be picked up at the Marathon office and at the SWAN Lagos office.

The 2019 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon is billed to take place on February 2, 2019.
