Imperial FC head coach Franklin Freeman has shifted his focus to the team’s next fixture after a 1-1 draw against Gbagada FC, with the result leaving his side at the top of the TCC League standings after Matchday Seven.
Sports247 reports that Imperial FC remain top of the table with 17 points, while Gbagada FC sit second with 15 points, keeping the race for the summit tightly contested.
Reacting to the outcome of the encounter, Freeman expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance, insisting that dropping points is part of football and that the focus should remain on the positives.
“We don’t have any issue with that. It’s fine. Sometimes you play, you win. Sometimes you draw. Sometimes you could also lose. But we take the positive, and we move ahead,” Freeman said.
Despite the draw, Imperial FC have maintained their position at the top, but with Gbagada FC just one point behind, the pressure is on Freeman’s men to deliver consistently in their remaining fixtures.
The Imperial FC coach, however, dismissed any suggestion of dwelling on the result, stressing that the team must quickly turn its attention to the next challenge.
“This one is gone. We look forward to the next game. That’s the only thing that we have now as our option,” he added.
With just one point separating the two sides, Imperial FC will look to build on their current position as the battle for supremacy in the TCC League continues.
