IBB International Golf & Country Club Prepares To Host Africa’s Elite Female Players In November 

The prestigious IBB International Golf & Country Club, Abuja is already wearing a new look and additional upgrades are being added to the envionment, as officials prepare to host a glittering array of Africa’s elite female golfers next month.

Sports247 gathered that the serene venue in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will from November 2nd to 7th host the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT), which is globally renowned as Africa’s leading women’s team golf championship.

AACT 2026 director of communication, Kayode Adeniyi disclosed that this year’s competition will be staged under the theme ‘Africa Is Coming to Abuja,’ ahead of which the participating nations, players and host venue are already in great expectation.

He pointed out that the competition will further boost the growing development of women’s golf across the continent, as it will bring together Africa’s current pinnacle of female golfing talent for six days in a highly competitive continental contest.

Adeniyi added, “As preparations continue at the IBB International Golf & Country Club, attention is increasingly turning to Abuja, where the championship will provide a platform for African golfers to compete.

“While also showcasing Nigeria’s hospitality and the country’s growing profile as a destination for major sporting events, the countdown will feature daily stories, interviews, player and country profiles, tournament facts, behind-the-scenes updates and features on the host venue.

“As the championship draws closer, the campaign will also highlight the role of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), the local organising committee and other stakeholders in preparing for the continental championship.”
