Olympiacos of Greece defender, Bruno Sopuruchukwu Onyemaechi would be heading for an improved pay packet should an ongoing move by Real Betis of Spain pull through, as his current employers want to reap a huge profit on his transfer.
Sports247 gathered that, although Olympiacos got him for only €2m from Boavista of Portugal at the beginning of 2025, the Greek outfit are looking to reap a massive €4m profit on the Super Eagles’ left-back, as they have placed a fee of €6m on his signature.
The Greek champions aim to cash in on incereased offers coming Onyemaechi’s way from top clubs across Europe, followiing his sterling performancces for the Super Eagles, with which he has cemented his starting spot at left-back.
Olympiacos have already warded off several offers for the 27-year-old defender, but are now ready to sell him at a huge profit, should Betis continue their push for the Owerri-born star, who previously played for Lillestrøm, Feirense and Vila Real.
Transfer expert, Ekrem Konur disclosed, “Olympiacos signed the defender from Portuguese side, Boavista for approximately €2m in January 2025 and are seeking a significant profit on their investment.
“The club are now prepared to consider offers for Onyemaechi, although they want around €6m for the 27-year-old. However, Betis have yet to submit a formal offer, with no active negotiations currently taking place between the clubs.”
Sports247 recalls that Onyemaechi made his international debut for Nigeria on September 10th, 2023, in a 6-0 victory over São Tomé and Príncipe, the last match of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
A move to Betis would accord him the opportunity to finally realise his dream of playing top-flight football in Spain, having previously been linked with two La Liga sides – Las Palmas and Getafe – during his days at Boavista.
