Seamoriow FA U15 goalkeeper Monday Austine Peter has described his double individual triumph at the Seamoriow Sports U15 League Championship 2026 as a special achievement after an outstanding campaign that contributed significantly to his team’s title-winning run.

Austine was named both Best Goalkeeper and Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament, capping a remarkable individual performance between the posts and earning recognition as one of the competition’s standout players.
Speaking in an exclusive SPORTS247 interview, the young goalkeeper expressed his delight at receiving both prestigious awards.
“I feel extremely happy, proud and grateful. Winning both the Best Goalkeeper and MVP awards is a special achievement for me. It shows that my hard work and dedication throughout the tournament were recognised. I am very thankful to everyone who supported me and helped make this possible,” he said.
Asked which of the two awards means more to him, Austine admitted that the MVP prize holds a slight edge because of the wider recognition it represents.
“Both awards are very special to me, but the MVP award means a little more because it recognises me as one of the most outstanding players in the entire tournament, not just among the goalkeepers.
However, the Best Goalkeeper award is also very important to me because goalkeeping is my passion,” he explained.
The goalkeeper also received an impressive collection of prizes alongside his individual honours, including ₦300,000 for the MVP award and ₦200,000 for Best Goalkeeper, as well as a television, refrigerator, standing fan, goalkeeper gloves and other awards.
“Honestly, I was surprised and very excited. I never expected to receive so many amazing prizes. I felt very grateful and appreciated. The prizes will always remind me that hard work and dedication can bring great rewards,” Austine said.
Reflecting on his performance, he identified hard work, regular training, discipline and determination as the foundation of his success.
“I always tried to stay focused and give my best in every match. I also listened to my coaches and learned from my mistakes,” he added.
While he faced several challenging moments throughout the championship, Austine said his greatest satisfaction came from making crucial saves when his team needed him most.
He also credited his teammates and coaches for playing a major role in his success.
“Football is a team sport, and I could not have won these awards alone. My coaches worked hard to train, guide and encourage me.
Their support and teamwork helped me perform well throughout the tournament,” he concluded.
