The chairman of Lagos State Football Coaches Association (LSFCA), David Dosu has sent out a clarion call to handlers of grassroots teams and academies across the metropolis to affiliate with relevant councils nearest to them.
Dosu, who was elected unopposed during the LSFCA’s polls last month, pointed out in an exclusive interview with Sports247 that the directive has become necessary in order to promote standards, instill proper regulation and enhance accountability in the sector.
He added that having tacticians in different categories of football teams as members of one coaches’ council or the other across the state will also help the central body make recommendations for everyone in a well coordinated approach.
“We want Lagos State coaches to stand out and achieve great things in life. Now that I am in a leadership position, I want us all to achieve great things together.
“We will organise seminars to help us move forward together. That’s why I want to use this opportunity to urge all grassroots coaches to affiliate with the association.
“They need to affiliate with us through various coaches’ councils across the state. That’s a major decision we have taken in the executive committee.
“The new regulation now is that all coaches at every level across Lagos State must affiliate with various councils for them to be recognised,” the gaffer fondly called ‘Apelete’ stressed.
