Tosin Adarabioyo Says He Wants ‘To Push Tottehnham Where They Deserve To Be’

Nigerian-born defender, Tosin Adarabioyo has spoken about his ambition to help Tottenham Hotspur reach ‘where they deserve to be,’ as he begins the next level of his professional career with the London-based English Premier League outfit.

Sports247 reports that Tosin was talkiing tough after sealing his transfer from Tottenham’s fellow-London-based rivals, Chelsea, which makes him the next player to enjoy a rare switch between both EPL giants since 2009, and said he wants to make the best of it.

Although deals between Tottenham and Chelsea are distant and far between, Spurs had to move quickly for Tosin after Kevin Danso left the club on transfer deadline day to join Sunderland and the 28-year-old Nigerian-born centre back has signed a deal worth £7m.

The deal comes as a revival of links between both clubs, after Chelsea failed in their attemp to sign Luka Modric from Tottenham in 2011, while the last successful agreement between them was when Italian goalkeeper, Carlo Cudicini joined Spurs from The Blues in January 2009.

While noting the symbolic nature of his move across London, Tosin declared that he wants to make the best of it and thanked the crew at Totttenham for considering him good enough to fit into their squad, even as he pledged total allegiance to the team’s ambitions.

Tosin said: “I’m in an important part of my career. After speaking to the head coach and knowing the type of football he wants to play, I think it’s a very good fit. He wants the team to play with courage, and that’s something that I always look to do.

“I want to achieve the absolute best, to push this team and this club as much as possible to where we deserve to be. That’s something that has to be done every single day, especially on the training pitch, and I will be bringing that mentality to the club.”
