Falconets forward Chisom Nwachukwu has declared that Nigeria are fully prepared for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, with the team determined to fight for the trophy.
Nwachukwu said the Falconets have enjoyed top-level preparations and are now fully focused on the task ahead as they prepare to begin their campaign.
“Our preparations have been top notch,” Nwachukwu said, stressing that the players are already concentrating on their opening match.
The young forward expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness and promised that the players would give everything in their bid to bring the title back to Nigeria.
The Falconets completed their final preparations with a 1-1 draw against South Korea, following earlier tune-up activities designed to get the team ready for the demands of the tournament.
Coach Moses Aduku has also declared the team ready for its opening fixture against Spain on Monday, while goalkeeper Effiong Bright Etim said the squad is about 95 percent prepared.
Nwachukwu believes the team’s preparation and focus can provide a strong foundation for Nigeria’s campaign.
With the friendly matches now completed, attention has shifted entirely to the competitive action in Poland.
The Falconets will be aiming to make a positive start against Spain before turning their attention to the remaining group-stage challenges.
For Nwachukwu and her teammates, however, the ambition goes beyond simply participating.
The target is clear — to compete for the title and return home with the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup trophy.
