The arrival of Nigerian-born attacker, Eseosa Joshua Sule at Saint Mirren FC of Scotland has been described as a development that gives the Scottish Premiership club ‘a little bit of what they’ve been looking for,’ according to the club’s coach, Craig McLeish, Sports247 reports.
The declaration by McLeish comes in the wake of the arrival of the 20-year-old Eseosa from West Bromwich Albion of England on a three-year deal, after the former Celtic of Scotland academy player’s loan spell last season at Motherwell was cut short by an injury.
While his stint with Motherwell ended before he could even make a single league appearance, memory is still fresh with how Eseosa got his debut for West Brom on April 10th, 2026 during a goalless draw that The Baggies played against Millwall in the English Championship.
That highlight of his carreer and reflections over his early days with Celtic left a fan at his new club, John Walker describing Eseosa as a lad with strong ‘potential to be an absolutely top signing, based on his ability to score with both feet or his head, (while he) packs a lot of pace, power and pressing ability.’
McLeish also disclosed that he was happy to get a deal for the attacker and further told St Mirren’s website: “Eseosa came up on loan to Motherwell last year and was unfortunate that he picked up an injury and had to head back down the road without really featuring much.
“We had been speaking to West Brom about a loan initially. When the chance came to do a permanent deal, we were really excited about it. He’s one that we’re excited about because it gives us the bit that we’re looking for where he can stretch defences. He gives us a real threat and speed in behind.”
