Blessing Ogundiran Sets Meeting Record to Reach NAIA 100m Final

Nigerian sprinter Blessing Ogundiran announced herself in spectacular fashion at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships after producing a sensational performance in the women’s 100m heats.

Sports247 gathered that she represent Warner University Track & Field, the freshman stormed to victory in her heat with an impressive 11.26 seconds (-0.1), setting a new meeting record in the process.

Running from lane five, Ogundiran looked composed and dominant throughout the race, taking control early and maintaining her momentum all the way to the finish line to secure qualification for the final.

The outstanding performance further confirmed the Nigerian youngster’s growing reputation as one of the exciting sprint talents emerging on the collegiate athletics scene in the United States.

Her latest outing also continues what has already been a remarkable championship campaign.

Before her impressive 100m display, Ogundiran had earlier made a strong statement in the women’s 200m, clocking 23.64 seconds to qualify comfortably for the next round.

Also competing in the women’s 100m heats were fellow Nigerians Adedoyin Aderibigbe and Promise Amasiatu.

Aderibigbe recorded a time of 12.01 seconds, while Amasiatu crossed the line in 12.10 seconds during their respective races.

Ogundiran’s meeting record performance is another strong addition to the growing list of Nigerian athletes making major impacts in collegiate athletics competitions across the United States.
