Wrestling Federation President Adewale Adeniyi Gets Accolades For Supporting Prosperity Cup 2026

The president of Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), COC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has received a shower of accolades for supporting the recent Prosperity Cup and in Bayelsa, Sports247 reports.

The chain of accolades for Adeniyi was led by Bayelsa State governor Douye Diri, who thanked the comptroller-general of customs for helping the development of sports in the state.

Diri gave plaudits to Adeniyi during the final of Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament, known as Prosperity Cup, while also acknowledging that the support has helped in the growth of grassroots sports across the state.

Diri also announced that Adeniyi donated ₦5m to the tournament winners, in addition to his earlier financial support to the organisers.
He further noted that the Customs boss has consistently identified with Bayelsa State, by actively contributing to the standard of sporting activities.

“I want to extend our gratitude to the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, who took over from our son, Champion Daniel Igali, as President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Adewale Adeniyi, for his support and sponsorship of the Prosperity Cup.

“During our National Wrestling Classics, he always plays a major role, and we are not surprised by his support for the Prosperity Cup.
“This is what we want to see in our sports. Government cannot do everything, which is why we are encouraging individuals and private organisations to join hands,” Diri submitted.
