Nigerian forward David Okereke came off the bench to get on the scoresheet, but it proved to be only a consolation as US Cremonese suffered a heavy 4–1 defeat to ACF Fiorentina in the Serie A.

Fiorentina took control of the game early, opening the scoring in the 25th minute through Fabiano Parisi, who finished off a well-worked move assisted by Rolando Mandragora.
The hosts doubled their advantage just seven minutes later, with Roberto Piccoli finding the net to give Fiorentina a comfortable lead heading into halftime.
The second half resumed in similar fashion, as Dodô extended Fiorentina’s lead in the 49th minute, putting the game further beyond Cremonese’s reach.
However, Okereke provided a brief spark for the visitors when he pulled one back in the 57th minute, finishing from an assist by Federico Ceccherini to make it 3–1.
Any hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished when Albert Guðmundsson restored Fiorentina’s three-goal cushion in the 70th minute, sealing a dominant performance for the home side.
The defeat leaves Cremonese in 18th position on the league table after 29 matches, with 24 points, as their battle against relegation intensifies.
Despite being six points above fellow strugglers Pisa SC and Hellas Verona FC, the pressure continues to mount on the team heading into the final stretch of the season.
For Okereke, the goal offers a positive individual takeaway, but Cremonese will need a significant turnaround in results to boost their survival hopes in the Serie A.
