Ogundiran Leads NAIA 60m Field as Nigerians Impress in Heats

Nigeria’s Blessing Ogundiran produced a sensational performance to record the fastest time in the women’s 60m heats at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships, clocking 7.28s in Heat 2 to qualify comfortably for the final.

The Warner University freshman looked sharp and dominant from the blocks, powering through the race to stamp her authority as a strong favourite heading into the final.

Also advancing to the next round is fellow Nigerian Promise Amasiatu of Lewis-Clark State College, who finished second in Heat 3 with a time of 7.52s, securing her place among the finalists.

Meanwhile, Adedoyin Aderibigbe of William Penn University was also in action, posting 7.56s as she continues her championship campaign on the national stage.

The presence of multiple Nigerian athletes progressing highlights the growing impact of Nigerian sprint talent in collegiate athletics.
