Cameroon stunned the hosts early, taking the lead in the 7th minute to seize initial control of the contest. The early setback momentarily shifted momentum, but Nigeria responded with composure and growing intensity.

The equaliser arrived in the 32nd minute through Chiwendu Ihezuo, who powered home a clinical header from an excellent delivery by Rinsola Babajide. The goal reignited the Super Falcons’ rhythm and belief, as they began to dominate possession and territory.

Just before halftime, the turnaround was complete. In the 43rd minute, Babajide capped her outstanding first-half display by finding the back of the net herself, handing Nigeria a 2–1 advantage heading into the break.

The second half saw Nigeria assert further control. Their dominance was rewarded in the 64th minute when Michelle Alozie rose brilliantly to head home from a well-timed assist by Rasheedat Ajibade, extending the lead to 3–1.

From that point, the Super Falcons managed the game effectively, combining defensive discipline with purposeful attacking transitions to seal an impressive victory.

The comeback not only highlighted the squad’s depth and tactical adaptability but also underlined their ability to respond under pressure. It was a dominant display after the early setback — one that reinforces Nigeria’s status as a continental powerhouse.
