Kaita, who featured for Nigeria at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and won AFCON bronze in 2010, said he has been impressed by the Super Eagles’ flawless group-stage performances, where they secured maximum points to finish top of Group C.

According to the former midfielder, Nigeria’s blend of experience, tactical discipline and attacking confidence sets them apart from many of the teams still in the competition. He described the tournament as “all or nothing” at this stage, stressing that the players understand what is at stake.

Kaita added that after watching other contenders, including host nation Morocco, he is convinced Nigeria has what it takes to lift the trophy for a fourth time. He pointed out that the Super Eagles have grown in confidence with every match and now look mentally prepared for the pressure of knockout football.

The former Eagles star also praised the team’s mentality, noting that winning all three group matches sends a strong message to the rest of the field, even though tougher tests lie ahead.

Nigeria will face Mozambique in the Round of 16 on 5 January in Fès, and Kaita believes victory in that match could further strengthen belief within the squad as they chase continental glory.
