According to him, the league has provided a vital platform that will significantly boost the sport’s visibility and competitiveness across the country.
Attahiru singled out the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Dr. Adeniyi Adewale (MFR), for special commendation, applauding his unwavering sponsorship and support of the league.
The Board of Trustees member of Life Camp Volleyball Club described the partnership as a sustainable model that has created opportunities for young and experienced players to showcase their talents and grow professionally.
“This league would not have reached this level without the vision and support of the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Dr. Adeniyi Adewale (MFR),” Attahiru said. “The CG has shown genuine commitment to sports development, and volleyball in Nigeria is better for it.”
He also commended the President of the NVBF, Engineer Musa Nimrod, alongside his board, for their leadership and consistent efforts in promoting volleyball across the country.
Attahiru credited the federation’s leadership for the smooth execution of the league, stressing that their dedication has helped elevate the profile of the sport.
“Engineer Nimrod and his team have done an exceptional job. Their hard work is evident in the seamless organisation of this league. The volleyball community owes them a debt of gratitude for providing this fantastic platform,” he added.
While praising the organisers, Attahiru challenged players who featured in the competition to show greater zeal, discipline and professionalism, noting that the opportunities created through the league must be fully maximised.
“The platform is there now. What the players need to do is to raise their level of commitment, train harder and take advantage of this opportunity to build successful careers,” he said.
Expressing optimism about the future of the competition, Attahiru noted that with sustained support from the Nigeria Customs Service and other key stakeholders, the CGC Volleyball Premier League would continue to grow and produce players capable of representing Nigeria with pride at continental and international levels.
