Nigerian sprinter Immaculate Daniel has cemented her status as one of the fastest-rising athletes in the collegiate circuit following a remarkable campaign with Illinois State University’s Redbirds Track & Field program.
After transferring from Southeastern Louisiana, Daniel wasted no time making an impact. She set the tone indoors with a scintillating 7.26s in the 60m, a performance that not only stunned her competitors but also earned her the school record, signalling her arrival as a top-tier sprinter.
Her dominance carried seamlessly into the outdoor season. Daniel produced a massive 11.33s in the 100m—another school record—while clocking a personal best 23.99s in the 200m.
Her contributions extended beyond individual events, anchoring the Redbirds’ 4x100m relay team to multiple victories and a silver-medal finish at the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships.
For an athlete once seen as a promising talent, Daniel is now shaping up to be a collegiate powerhouse. With her steady rise, explosive speed, and growing confidence, the 2026 season is shaping up to be her biggest yet.
