“This is the kind of performance Nigerians have been waiting for. The boys showed hunger, discipline, and professionalism. It’s a joy to see the Super Eagles play with such purpose again,” Agu said.
The former goalkeeper trainer emphasized that the victory was not only about goals but also about collective spirit and accountability, qualities he said had been missing in recent games.
“You could see unity in the squad — from defense to attack. Everyone knew what their job was, and they executed it perfectly. That’s what makes great teams,” he noted.
Agu further expressed optimism ahead of the playoffs, insisting that the Super Eagles now have the momentum to finish the job and secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“We’ve crossed one hurdle, but the next stage will be even tougher. If the players stay humble, united, and focused, qualification is absolutely possible,” he added.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to keep faith with the team and support them through the final phase of the qualification journey.
“This team has given us hope again. Let’s keep believing — the World Cup ticket is still within our reach,” Agu said.
