Former Odion Ighalo Football Academy player David Nwachukwu has officially returned to his parent club, Debreceni VSC of Hungary, ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The Nigerian midfielder, who spent the previous season on loan at Budapest BVSC in Hungary’s second division, has rejoined Debrecen and traveled with the team to Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Austria, for preseason preparations.

David Nwachukwu, known for his technical ability and attacking flair, is expected to feature in Debrecen’s upcoming friendly matches as he looks to break into the first-team squad.
Debreceni VSC, who finished 9th in the Hungarian top-flight last season, are aiming to rebuild and strengthen their squad with young talents like Nwachukwu ahead of the new campaign.
The 20-year-old’s development is being closely watched by club officials and fans alike, as he continues his rise from grassroots football in Nigeria to European competition.
