Former Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to ensure the national team receives the best possible preparation ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Reacting to the AFCON qualifying draw, Onazi described the campaign as a fresh opportunity for the Super Eagles to rebuild confidence after recent disappointments.

“This is a fresh start for everybody,” Onazi said.
According to the former Lazio midfielder, Nigeria cannot afford a repeat of the problems that affected the country’s FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.
“There is no room for another error,” he implied.
Onazi stressed that poor planning and mismanagement must not be allowed to affect the team again during a major qualification series.
“We cannot repeat the same mistakes,” he noted.
The former Super Eagles star believes strong preparation and proper organization will be crucial if Nigeria hopes to dominate the qualifiers from the beginning.
“The team must be ready from the first match,” he added.
Nigeria’s World Cup qualification struggles continue influencing conversations around the management and preparation of the national team.
“The lessons should already be clear,” many football observers believe.
Onazi remains optimistic that the Super Eagles possess enough quality to succeed if the environment around the team improves significantly.
“The talent has always been there,” he stressed.
For the former Nigerian midfielder, the message is clear.
Prepare properly.
Avoid past mistakes.
And give the Super Eagles the structure needed to succeed.
Because successful qualification campaigns begin with organization, planning, and consistency.
