2019 All Africa Games: Nigeria to challenge in Basketball, Table-tennis, Gymnastic and twenty other sports

Nigeria will challenge in 23 sports events at 2019 All Africa games in Morocco after competing in 21 events in the previous edition, Sports247 report.

 

The 2019 All Africa Games is billed to begin on August 19 to 23 in four Moroccan cities and the West African nation will be hoping to win more laurels this year.

At the 2015 edition in Congo Brazzaville, Nigeria finished second on the medals table with 47gold, 55 silver and 42 bronze medals behind Egypt, who had 85 gold, 64 silver and 65 bronze medals.

In preparation for the 12th edition of the All Africa Games, most federations have submitted their preliminary list to the Ministry of Youth and Sports in readiness for camping which would commence next month.

Nigeria will compete in athletics, football, table tennis, tennis, wrestling, weightlifting, badminton, judo, beach volleyball, boxing, canoe-kayak, chess, cycling, gymnastics, golf, handball, karate, rowing, shooting, swimming, basketball, handball and taekwondo.

Four cities will host this year’s games – Rabat, Casablanca, El Jadida, and Khemisset while the opening and closing ceremonies will hold at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
