Zidora Africa @Play: Bostwana Journalist Anastacia Sibanda Shares Her Experience at the All-African Games in Accra, Ghana

Anastacia Sibanda, a journalist at the 13th All-African Games, shared her experiences and observations about life in Accra, Ghana, and the ongoing competition, Sports247 reports.

Sibanda, who arrived in Accra on Tuesday, has been enjoying the local culture and hospitality. “I think it’s the food, the yam, fufu, all these things. I mean the hospitality is very good, the way they treat people. Even at the media centre, when you want transport, it’s available for us. So I would say so far so good,” she stated, highlighting the warm reception she has received.

Despite the rigorous schedule of the games, Sibanda and her team have found time to relax and enjoy the local scenery. “Right now we are enjoying the beach, For some of us who don’t have a beach in our country, I think it’s a very good experience,” she said, appreciating the unique experiences that the games have offered.

When asked about her country’s performance in the games, Sinbanda expressed optimism. “Not really. I’m not yet disappointed. Sometimes you just have to. You win some, you lose some.

But as for my country, I know we do better because we still have weightlifting, we still have track and field which will be competing. So let’s just see,” she said, indicating her confidence in her team’s potential for success.

As the All-African Games continue, journalists like Sinbanda are not only covering games but also experiencing new cultures, forming new connections, and creating memories that extend beyond the competition.

Their stories remind us that these games are not just about winning medals, but also about personal growth, cultural exchange, and the spirit of sportsmanship.
