” YSFON Is Back With A Bang In The South-West” Says Taju Disu

It was a roll call of who is who in Nigerian football circle on Saturday at Kelin Hotel, off Adelabu Street, Surulere, Lagos, at the inauguration of Hon. Tajudeen Disu as the Chairman of Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria(YSFON), Lagos State Chapter.After the swearing-in conducted by the Association”s National Legal Adviser Barr. Kola Adepoju, Tajudeen Disu declared he accepted his nomination in good faith as a call to service and an avenue to give back.

Disu opined that Grassroots football is dead in Nigeria as a result of the demise of YSFON and “this is the time for YSFON to resurrect from the dead”. He went back in memory lane on how he had a breakthrough in Football through YSFON ably backed and supported by the late Pillar of Sports in Africa, Bashorun MKO Abiola, through whom he secured a scholarship to study in the USA after playing for Clubs like Leventis United and Abiola. Other members of Lagos YSFON Executive include Ganiu Ajide, Brenda Aladar, and Taiwo Alimi

Speaking at the occasion, Ex-international Felix Owolabi eulogized Hon. Tajudeen Ajide(Surulere LG Chairman) was later decorated as the Grand Patron of YSFON in the Southwest as “MKO Abiola of our time”.Owolabi recalled Ajide numerous contribution to the development of grassroots football, particularly in the Southwest,”Owoblow” concluded with a cliché “Tajudeen Ajide Revolution”.Hon. Ajide later donated three Giant Trophies for the staging of a Male and Female U-18 football competitions

Also present were erstwhile African Coach of the Year, Coach Kadiri Ikhana, Ex-international and newly sworn-in President of Professional Association of Nigerian Footballers, Tijani Babangida, Osun, and Oyo State Chairmen of YSFON and their Ogun State counterpart, Alh. Waheed K. Lawal and other big wigs
