YOBO FC vs BURUJ FRIENDLY CALLED OFF IN THE LAST MINUTES! – CEO Salaudeen Waheed Charges Government To Build Sports Facilities Across The State

The much high-profile friendly game between Yobo FC and Buruj Sports Academy which is expected to hold this Thursday (today) morning has been called off in the last minutes, a situation the CEO of the academy, Dr. Salaudeen Waheed, label as a great disservice to youth and sports development in the country.

 

 

The match was expected to hold by 7.00am.

 

The players and officials of Lagos based academy were on their way to the Capa-Oshodi Playing Field before the organisers disclosed that another school are billed to use the facilities for their Inter House Sports Competition, a situation that informed the cancellation.

 

It is in this light that Dr. Salaudeen is calling on government at all levels to show more interest in developing youths and school children by building modern facilities in every nook and crannies of the state so that situation like this would not always raise its ugly head.

 

He expressed disappointment that his boys who were already looking up to play Yobo FC, a club own by former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, were demoralised by the new development buy was quick to inspire them that the game may still hold as reschedule.

The management of Buruj Sports Academy are using series of friendly game to prepare the team ahead of their upcoming international outing where they will feature in English Super Cup in Manchester and Welsh Super Cup in Cardiff, United Kingdom.
