The two-week sporting festival, scheduled to hold from October 15 to 29, will feature 12 sporting events including football, athletics, volleyball, table tennis, and tug of war. It will bring together military and paramilitary officers from across the state in what promises to be a celebration of discipline, camaraderie, and athleticism.
Hailing the initiative, Mrs. Adeleke-Sanni described the Games as “a noble project that blends the values of service, fitness, and unity,” while urging participants to see sports not only as competition but as a tool for building friendships, mutual respect, and healthy living.
“Sports have always been a powerful tool for promoting peace, teamwork, and wellness. I commend the organizers for creating this platform, and I encourage our gallant men and women in uniform to embrace it wholeheartedly,” she said.
A passionate supporter of youth and community programs, Mrs. Adeleke-Sanni’s endorsement has been described as a major boost to the credibility and visibility of the Games. Organizers, representing Ace Sports and the Osun Sports Officers Association, expressed deep gratitude for her involvement, noting that her encouragement will serve as motivation for both athletes and administrators.
One of the high points of this year’s edition will be the football semifinals and finals, set to take place at the newly built Aderemi Sanni Stadium inside Adeleke University, Ede. The state-of-the-art facility, named after her late husband, is expected to host large crowds and add glamour to the competition’s closing stages.
With just days to the kickoff, anticipation is building around what is already billed as one of Osun’s most unifying sporting events of the year, celebrating not just physical excellence, but the resilience, unity, and service of the state’s uniformed men and women.
