Rivers United have officially announced the appointment of Yemi Daniel Olanrewaju as their new Chief Coach, in a strategic move to bolster the club’s technical setup ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Olanrewaju, a former coach at Enyimba, replaces Evans Ogenyi following the expiration of his contract. Known for his tactical discipline and ability to develop players, the seasoned gaffer now joins a restructured technical crew led by Technical Manager, Finidi George.
His arrival is expected to add depth to Rivers United’s coaching team as they aim to reclaim their status among the NPFL elite following a challenging campaign last season.
Club sources say preparations are already in top gear for preseason, with Olanrewaju set to play a key role in player assessments and tactical planning.
This appointment marks another chapter in Rivers United’s effort to return to continental football and build a competitive squad capable of challenging for domestic honours
