Y Sega BSC emerged champions of the inaugural ABSU President’s Cup Super 4 Finals in Dutse, the capital of Jigawa State.
The champions put on a dominant display in the final, routing Gumel LGA BSC 8-0 to secure the title after winning two of their three matches in the Super 4 Finals.
Y Sega BSC began their campaign with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Buji LGA BSC, before suffering a 4-2 defeat to Jahun LGA BSC on Sunday. They ultimately topped the standings with six points—level with Buji BSC—but clinched the trophy on goal difference.
The tournament, organized in honour of Mahmud Hadejia, celebrated his contributions to the growth of beach soccer. Beyond recognising excellence, it also served as a talent discovery platform for the state team, Jigawa Golden Stars BSC, ahead of the 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) season.
The maiden edition represents a significant step in expanding and developing grassroots beach soccer in Jigawa State and across Nigeria
