Wikki Tourists reclaimed leadership in Conference C of the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) following a dominant 3-1 victory over Mighty Jets, with forward Wonderson Yakubu delivering a sensational hat-trick in what was only his major outing of the season.
The Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi buzzed with excitement, and it didn’t take long for the home crowd to celebrate as Wonderson Yakubu opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a calm, clinical finish.
He struck again in the 40th minute, this time bending a precise angled effort into the bottom corner, extending the Tourists’ lead and control over the game heading into halftime.
Yakubu completed his memorable performance in the 76th minute, nodding in a pinpoint long ball from reliable left-back Bismark Duah to seal his hat-trick in style.
Mighty Jets grabbed a late consolation in the 86th minute through Ironsi Nickson, who broke past the Wikki defence and sneaked a cheeky toe-poke past the goalkeeper.
With this crucial win, Wikki Tourists now lead Conference C with 20 points from 10 games, placing them firmly in control with just two fixtures remaining.
