Wikki Tourists coach Ali Zubair positive despite Sokoto United draw

Wikki Tourists head coach Ali Zubair was upbeat about his side’s 1-1 draw against Sokoto United in the #AhlanCup2019.

The Giant Elephants scored first through striker Daniel Jackson before Umar Shettima poked home the equalizer on the 45th minute mark at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Though the Bauchi-based side picked just one point, coach Ali Zubair was still pleased with certain aspects of his team’s performance and believes they deserved more from the game.

“I think we did well and clearly dominated possession,” coach Ali Zubair told Ahlan Cup Media.

“I have kept saying that this is a team in progress. We’re taking one match after the other and then at the end of the day we shall see how it goes.

“We dictated the pace and that was very good. Of course we could have done more but we can’t complain too much.

Tourists will face Kano Selected host in their next encounter on Thursday October 10 at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
