Ogun State’s female volleyball team showcased sheer dominance as they cruised past Kaduna with a convincing 3-0 victory at the ongoing National Sports Festival.
The Gateway Girls were in total control of the pulsating encounter, thrilling a packed arena that included dignitaries such as the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Bukola Olopade.

Ogun State claimed victory in straight sets — 25-22, 25-19, and 25-18 — to the delight of their passionate and vocal fans who turned out in numbers to support their team.
Team captain Bukky Oluwatosin attributed the win to her teammates’ determination and fighting spirit. “We’re bringing the Gold medal to Ogun State,” she boldly declared after the match. “This win is for our fans who always stand by us. We played against a tough side — Kaduna has players who feature in the national team — but our unity and drive made the difference.”
The Ogun side now looks ahead with renewed confidence, with their sights firmly set on claiming the top prize in the women’s volleyball event.
