Speaking on the future of the sport, Adamu emphasized that while Nigerian boxing is growing, there is still a significant gap compared to global powerhouses.

“We want world champions,” he said.

According to him, one of the biggest challenges remains the financial disparity between Nigerian fighters and elite boxers such as Anthony Joshua.

“The earnings gap is huge,” he implied.

Adamu stressed the need to build a structured system that supports fighters from grassroots to elite level, ensuring they are properly trained, promoted, and rewarded.

“We need a proper system,” he noted.

He also highlighted the importance of hosting major boxing events in Nigeria, which would not only boost the sport locally but also attract international attention.

“We want big fights here,” he added.

For Adamu, the goal is to elevate Nigerian boxing to a level where fighters can compete globally while earning sustainable careers.

“We are on the right path,” he stressed.

Despite existing challenges, he remains optimistic about the future, pointing to increasing interest and emerging talent as signs of progress.

“It’s growing,” he said.

As the sport continues to develop, stakeholders will be looking to turn ambition into reality.

For Adamu, the message is clear.

Build the system.

Support the fighters.

And aim for the top.

Because in boxing, greatness is not given—it is built.
