“We are fully set for Saturday’s unveiling and fundraising night. I’m incredibly grateful to all our invited dignitaries who have graciously acknowledged our invitation and confirmed their presence. Their commitment already reflects the high regard in which this championship is held.”

Among the esteemed personalities expected at the event are:

Barrister Nyesom Wike, Chief Host

Hon. Kunle Soname, Chief Launcher

Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the Occasion

Hon. Bukola Olopade, Host

And other prominent figures from government, the private sector, and the sporting world.

Adeyinka described the June 14 event as not just a ceremonial gathering, but a rallying point for stakeholders to unify behind a championship that promises to redefine sport hosting on the continent.

“With this lineup of respected and influential Nigerians supporting the cause, I can boldly assure the continent that Nigeria is more than ready. Come July, Africa—and especially South Africa—will witness a different kind of hosting in Abuja. It’s going to be historic.”

He went on to appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for sports development, grassroots engagement, and youth empowerment, which he said are the pillars driving the Federation’s momentum.

“Mr. President has been an incredible source of inspiration and support. His administration’s consistent encouragement of youth-centered sports initiatives gives us the confidence to dream big and deliver even bigger.”

The 14th African Armwrestling Championship will bring together over 20 nations to Nigeria’s capital in July. With preparations in full swing, and major institutional partnerships already in place—including support from the Nigerian Navy and sports authorities—the LOC assures that the 2025 edition will be Africa’s finest armwrestling showcase yet.

“Let the countdown begin,” Adeyinka concluded. “Saturday is the first spark, and July will be the flame of excellence. Nigeria is not just hosting; Nigeria is leading.”
