They stated this when they paid a congratulatory visit to the Permanent Secretary in his office in Lafia, on Friday.

Chairman of the Supporters’ Club, Ali Jibrin(also known as Baggio), while congratulating Danladi on his recent elevation and posting to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, said;

“Sir, we are here as the leadership of the Nasarawa United Supporters’ Club, a football Club which you are the Chairman of, to celebrate with you your recent appointment and later deployment to this Ministry.

“We are not only happy with this development, but much more grateful that our own has been posted to where we belong.

“This is equivalent to saying, “When your own is successful, you are also successful.”

“We thank the Governor for his wise decision. He knows what you have been doing and is capable of doing.

“And we hope that this development is an opportunity to explore your potential more for the improvement of youth and sports activities in the State.

“It is sad that our darling Club went on relegation, but like you always assure us, a visionary person doesn’t remain on the ground for too long.

“The Supporters’ Club has resolved to rally around you and the Government to ensure that the team returns to the Nigeria Premier Football League as soon as possible.

“Nasarawa United is a household name as far as club football is concerned in this country.

“We are with you and the team, whether in thick or thin. This is our franchise, and we must support and protect it.

“Even before the 2023/24 Nigeria National League resumes, we have already started putting our house in order to galvanize massive support for the team.

“We hope this extra move will motivate the team to make a fast return to the top-flight league.

“Additionally, we hope that your new office will open more doors of opportunities for our members to do more for the Club and State at large.”

Acknowledging the visit, the Permanent Secretary, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi thanked the leadership of the Supporters’ Club for their thoughtfulness and resolve to help propel Nasarawa United back to the NPFL.

“I truly appreciate your visit to me today.

“Permit me to especially thank His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the State who found me fit enough to be appointed Permanent Secretary, and even posted me to this Ministry.

“Though my new office represents more challenge for me to deliver as questions would be asked as to what achievements I have brought on board.

“I wish to reiterate that I will serve to the best of my knowledge, and this means working as a team with relevant stakeholders to get the job done, both for Nasarawa United and the Ministry which is a bigger organization.

“Indeed, your own has come to the Ministry, and this means you enjoying some privileges, no doubts.

“It’s never our desire to see the Club go on relegation, but man proposes, and God disposes. We apologize for the pain caused as a result of the team going on relegation.

“But with your support and others, I must assure you, we will bounce back stronger and better.

“I want you to put your house in order and give onerous support to the Club and Government to succeed.

“As for me, I will ensure everything due to you is made available to you to lift your morale in the support of the Club.

“However, you must equally play your part as true supporters and people who want the best for the team and State. This means you must be innovative and creative”

Goodwill messages were issued by the Ministry’s Director of Sports Organizing, Lawrence Shammah, and Secretary of the Supporters’ Club, Ibrahim Muku.

Other Directors of the Ministry who attended the visit were Umar Abubakar(Youth Development) and Mustapha Sani Bello(Technical).
