Unveiled: Tony Bekederemo, Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo shortlisted for the 2018/19 Nigeria Pitch Award

Super Eagles hitmen Ahmed Musa and Odion Ighalo alongside three-time African Women Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala are amongst the top players that have been shortlisted for the 6th edition of the Nigeria Pitch Awards.

The Nigeria Pitch Awards are awards presented to Nigerian former and present sports personnel, administrators and journalists in recognition of their positive contributions to sports in Nigeria.

All the shortlists in the 19 categories:

Goalkeeper of the Year: Ikechukwu Ezenwa (Katsina United FC), Theophilus Afelokhai of (Enyimba) and Francis Uzoho (Anorthosis Famagusta)

Defender of the Year: Leon Balogun (Brighton), William Troost-Ekong (Udinese), and Kenneth Omeruo (Leganes)

Midfielder of the Year: Oghenekaro Etebo (Stoke City), Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City) and Alex Iwobi (Arsenal)

Striker of the Year: Odion Ighalo (Shanghai Shenhua), Ahmed Musa (Al Masr) and Junior Lokosa (Esperance)

Queen of the Pitch: Francisca Ordega (Shanghai Shengli), Rasheedat Ajibade (Avaldsnes IL), and Asisat Oshoala (Barcelona)

King of the Pitch: Odion Ighalo (Shanghai Shenhua), Ahmed Musa (Al Masr) and Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester)

MVP in NPFL: Godwin Aguda (Enugu Rangers), Junior Lokosa (Kano Pillars) and Mfon Udoh Akwa United

MVP in the NWFL: Anam Imo (Nasarawa Amazons), Evelyn Nwabuoku (Rivers Angels) and Rasheedat Ajibade (Avaldsnes IL)

Coach of the Year: Thomas Dennerby (Super Falcons), Gbenga Ogunbote (Enugu Rangers) and Solomon Ogbeide (Lobi Stars)

Club of the Year: Akwa United, Enugu Rangers and Lobi Stars

National Team of the Year: Super Sand Eagles, Super Falcons and Super Eagles

Referee of the Year: Ogabor Joseph Odey, Adebimpe Quadri and Ferdinand Udoh

Sam Okwaraji Awards: Kunle Soname (Chairman, Remo Stars/BET9JA, Amaju Pinnick (President, NFF) and Seyi Akinwunmi (1st Vice President, NFF)

State with the Best Grassroots Football Development Programme: Delta, Rivers, Lagos State

Football Friendly Governor of the Year: Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom), Nyesom Wike (Rivers) and HE Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta)

Football Journalist of the Year (Print): Tunde Liadi (The Nation), Johnny Edwards (Complete Sport) and Tana Aiyejina (Punch)

Football Journalist of the Year (Radio): George Iniabasi Essien (Comfort 95.1 FM), Tony Bekederemo (Sports Radio 88.9 Brila FM) and Olawale Adigun (Top Radio 90.9FM)

Football Journalist of the Year (TV): Cecilia Omoregbe (Channels TV), Mozez Praiz (Supersport) and Austin Okon-Akpan (Channels TV)

Football Journalist of the Year (Online): Tobi Adepoju (naijafootballplus.com), Kunle Solaja (sportsvillagesquare.com) and Samuel Ahmadu (Goal.com)

The shortlists were confirmed at a media parley at Ibis Hotel, Lagos on Thursday.
