Chukwuma claimed silver in the women’s 200m final after clocking 23.59 seconds behind Ivory Coast’s Maboundou Kone, while also contributing to Nigeria’s relay success during the championships.

Sports247 reports that reflecting on her overall outing in Accra, the Nigerian sprinter remained positive and appreciative of her progress compared to previous competitions.

“I have nothing negative to say. I came here and I performed well. It is better than my last outing. I am happy,” Chukwuma said.

The sprinter also revealed that she faced certain challenges earlier during the competition but credited her coach for helping her stay mentally focused and composed.

“Initially because of the issue I had, I spoke with my coach and he told me to move on and I won a silver,” she explained.

Despite missing the top spot individually, Chukwuma emphasized that her overall medal return remained a major achievement and a source of motivation moving forward.

“Two silver and one gold, I am excited,” she added.

The Nigerian further addressed discussions surrounding Team Nigeria’s relay performance, dismissing suggestions that baton exchanges negatively affected their outing.

“The exchange in the relay wasn’t bad. I will be preparing for the next challenge.”

Chukwuma’s performances in Accra once again highlighted her consistency and growing importance within Nigeria’s sprint setup as she continues to establish herself among Africa’s elite female sprinters.

Her composure, maturity, and positive mindset throughout the championships also earned praise from athletics observers, particularly following her ability to overcome setbacks and still finish the competition strongly.

With the African Championships now concluded, the Nigerian sprinter is expected to shift focus toward upcoming international competitions as she continues preparations for the next phase of her athletics career.

For Rosemary Chukwuma, the championships in Ghana may not have produced an individual gold medal, but the experience, performances, and podium finishes have clearly strengthened her confidence for future challenges ahead.
