Nwaiwu was forced off after an impressive outing in which he scored twice, but further medical assessments have now revealed the extent of the damage.

In a statement released by the club, Trabzonspor disclosed that examinations and an MRI scan detected bleeding and edema in the inner thigh muscle group of his left leg.

The match formed part of the 24th week of the Süper Lig season, officially known as the Trendyol Süper Lig Mehmet Ali Yılmaz campaign.

“Treatment for our player has been started by our medical team,” the club stated, confirming that rehabilitation is already underway.

While Trabzonspor did not provide a specific recovery timeline, muscle injuries of this nature typically require careful management to prevent recurrence.

The development represents a potential setback for the club, as Nwaiwu has been a key attacking figure this season.

His absence could test squad depth as Trabzonspor push to maintain momentum in the Turkish top flight. For the Nigerian forward, the immediate focus shifts to recovery and regaining match fitness to return stronger in the decisive phase of the campaign.
