Olusanya initially played only the second half of last season for Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, which he admitted made things difficult for him, but he’s now relishing his prospects in a full campaign.
The hugely ambitious lad made the positive submission after signing a two-year agreement that transformed his initial loan spell from Houston Dynamo of USA into a full contract at Aberdeen.
Olusanya, who becomes the Pittodrie club’s fifth signing of the summer, acknowledged that he is eager to step up from his successful loan spell, which began in the second half of last season.
After arriving in January, the striker quickly established himself in The Dons’ mainframe and won the fans over, hence his belief that he will find next season easier, now that he is familiar with all systems at the club.
Having played 18 games, contributing key goals and providing assists to help Aberdeen finish the campaign strongly, the former AFC Wimbledon academy graduate is of a strong view that he now knows what is expected of him.
The 28-year-old attacker, who also previously played for Middlesbrough, St Mirren, Arbroath and Doncaster Rovers, added that he equally learnt a lot after joining Houston Dynamo in 2025.
He is now looking forward to playing a full season at Aberdeen, as he believes the experience he gained with them last term will come in handy.
Olusanya recalled how tough things were for him when he joined The Dons in mid-season, but stressed that his trying days are over and it’s now time for him to consolidate on all gains.
“I am buzzing to be back. From the moment I arrived in January, I felt welcomed by everyone at the club. The staff, the players and the supporters all made me feel at home.
“Coming in during the middle of a season isn’t always easy. I was still working my way back to full fitness and adapting to a new environment, but I felt I improved as the weeks went on. Now I have the opportunity to start again.
“I know the manager well and I know exactly what he expects from me. That gives me a great platform to push on and show what I can do,” Olusanya enthused expectantly.
