Okou also appealed to the outgoing NWF President, Olympic champion Daniel Igali, current Board members, and stakeholders to give their full support to Adeniyi’s candidacy. He stressed the importance of continuity and building on the solid foundation laid by the Igali-led board.
“The next leadership must not only consolidate on the achievements made so far but also take the Federation to the next level — and CG Adeniyi has the capacity to do that. With collective support, Nigeria can aim for World and Olympic wrestling gold,” he stated.
The call for Adeniyi’s emergence comes ahead of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation elections, with stakeholders gearing up for what could be a pivotal moment in shaping the future of the sport in the country.
With growing endorsement from within the military and paramilitary sports constituency, Adeniyi’s potential candidacy is gaining momentum, positioning him as a unifying figure capable of bridging administrative experience with a deep passion for athlete development
