Tokyo Olympics: Stakeholders Pass Vote Of Confidence On Sunday Dare

By Akin Bolarinwa

After surpassing the achievements of his predecessors, the minister of Youth and Sports Development Hon. Sunday Dare has earned vote confidence to continue the good work as the game master of the country.

In an opinion poll generated through social media, many were of the opinion that the two important medals (silver and bronze) won at the Tokyo Olympics haven’t taken the nation backward.

“He has made laudable improvements, like the ‘Adopt an Athlete’ initiative. He’s one of Nigeria’s most active Ministers” A journalist from Aba stated.

It was agreed that with or without medals honorable Sunday Dare has written his name in gold as one of the technocrats that have to remodel sports administration in Nigeria.

“If Nigeria wins 100 medals in 2024, there’s no way the story will be told without praising Hon. Sunday Dare. It will be criminal”

Despite a short time of preparations and Covid serving as an impediment, Team Nigeria was able to reach 5 finals and so many personal best in an individual sport.

“In terms of visibility and proactiveness, he’s in top 5 in President Muhammadu Government”

Progressive stakeholders agreed that the minister can not totally exonerate himself, as the game master, for the few hiccups witnessed at the games but how he was able to turn it into success still remains a miracle to so many.

“The minister may have made one or two wrong decisions but I still maintain it’s a daylight between him and his predecessors,” said a stakeholder.

He was given a pass mark for some of the policies and innovations he brought on board and it was agreed that there is a tendency to achieve even better next time.
