Toheebat Jimoh Shines In 400m Debut Season, Storms Into Final With Personal Best At African U18/U20 Championships

In a remarkable display of raw talent and rapid development, Nigeria’s Toheebat Jimoh blazed to a Personal Best (PB) of 53.77s to win her heat in the women’s 400m at the ongoing African U18 & U20 Championships in Abeokuta.

Jimoh, who only transitioned from the 100m sprint to the 400m earlier this year after joining the Making of Champions (MoC) Track Club, continues to impress with her swift adaptation to the longer sprint.

Her performance not only earned her a heat victory but also the fastest qualifying time heading into the final—firmly establishing her as one of the top contenders for the U20 women’s 400m crown.

Jimoh’s progression from a short sprint specialist to a quarter-miler on the continental stage is a testament to her work ethic and coaching, and she’ll now have her sights set on clinching a podium finish for Team Nigeria.
