Nigeria’s sprint hurdles star, Tobi Amusan, delivered another outstanding performance on Sunday, storming to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League despite competing in sweltering heatwave conditions.

The reigning world record holder crossed the finish line in 12.28 seconds, equalling her season’s best to comfortably defeat a strong American field. Grace Stark finished second in 12.38 seconds, while Alaysha Johnson claimed third place in 12.39 seconds.
Amusan looked in complete control throughout the competition, dominating both her preliminary heat and the final before pulling away from her rivals over the closing barriers to secure another Diamond League triumph.
The victory marks the third time this outdoor season that the Nigerian has clocked exactly 12.28 seconds, having previously recorded the same time at the Xiamen and Rabat Diamond League meetings.
Her remarkable consistency underlines the excellent form she has maintained throughout the 2026 campaign.
Amusan has enjoyed an impressive season, winning gold at the African Senior Athletics Championships in Accra, claiming victory at the Rabat Diamond League, and setting a new meet record at the New Taipei Athletics Open.
Her latest success in Paris further strengthens her preparations for the upcoming Lausanne Diamond League and the 2026 Commonwealth Games, where she is expected to be among the leading contenders for gold.
