The 20-year-old sprinter delivered one of the most impressive campaign runs by a Nigerian athlete this year, headlined by her world-leading 10.91 seconds in May, a performance that elevated her to the prestigious rank of the 4th fastest woman in Nigeria’s history.

Her indoor form was just as electric. Godbless opened with 7.22s before smashing a huge personal best of 7.08s at the Tyson Invitational—moving her to 4th on Nigeria’s all-time 60m list and announcing herself as a global contender.

Outdoors, she maintained her momentum with a 22.55s personal best in the 200m at the Tom Jones Invitational, where she also finished 2nd in the 100m (11.14s).

She later clocked 11.06s at the SEC Championships, but her biggest breakthrough came at the NCAA East Regionals where she stormed into the exclusive sub-11 club with her 10.91s masterpiece.

At the NCAA Championships, Godbless capped her season with a Bronze medal in the 100m, a 10th-place finish in the 200m, and a strong contribution to LSU’s 6th-place finish in the 4x100m relay.

With a blend of explosive starts, clean mechanics, and growing mental confidence, Tima Godbless is rapidly becoming one of Africa’s most dangerous sprint talents.

As she heads into the new season, expectations are sky-high, Nigeria may once again be on the brink of a global sprint breakthrough, and Tima Godbless is leading that charge.
