“He’s one of the top coaches,” she said.
According to the former assistant coach, the Falconets showed strong preparation, discipline, and consistency throughout the qualifiers.
“The team looked well prepared,” she implied.
Okunwa-Igunbor commended both the technical crew and players for handling the pressure of qualification effectively.
“They did a good job,” she noted.
However, she also warned the team against becoming satisfied with simply reaching the tournament.
“They must not relax,” she added.
For the former coach, Nigeria should now target surpassing the achievements of previous Falconets teams at the World Cup.
“They should aim even higher,” she stressed.
The Falconets have historically been one of Africa’s strongest teams at youth level, but the search for a breakthrough global title continues.
“There is still more to achieve,” she said.
Okunwa-Igunbor believes proper preparation and continued improvement could help this current squad compete strongly in Poland.
“The potential is there,” she concluded.
As the countdown to the tournament continues, expectations around the Falconets will continue to rise.
For Okunwa-Igunbor, the message is clear.
Qualification is only the beginning.
The team must stay hungry.
And Nigeria should dream bigger.
Because true progress comes from constantly pushing beyond previous limits.
