“The Future Is Bright For Me,” NWFL Super Six Top Scorer, Monday Gift

The Nigeria Women’s Football League Super Six tournament is gradually drawing to a close with two games left of the five and Bayelsa Queens are within reach of the title, thanks to goals from Monday Gift every matchday so far.

The Nigerian international is currently on loan from Robo Queens for the duration of the Super Six tournament and has scored six goals in three games for Bayelsa Queens to make them the only side with maximum points so far.

Quizzed about her secret, the striker said “it’s definitely God’s grace coupled with hard work, determination, focus, and good support from my teammates,” she told Sports247.

“I wasn’t expecting this, though I was putting in the effort I wasn’t expecting to score in every game,” Gift added.

The striker scored the winner to give her side maximum points in the opening game against defending champions Rivers Angels, then went on to score a hattrick against Naija Ratels before adding a brace against Bayelsa Queens to take her tally to six with two games to go.

Despite not starting the season but being among the top scorer, the striker could only say the future holds something good. “The future is bright for me, that’s all I can say,” Gift said.
